The Power to Choose.

It has been 3 years since my last visit in Cebu and I must say it has changed so much. There are too many businesses sprouting everywhere. I see branches of different U.S. shops in the new wings of Cebu malls. New malls have been built in different areas of Cebu that I wonder if people in the Philippines are experiencing the recession that has been happening all over the world.

We had options of where we should shop back then. We are now even more bombarded with several more options. A few years ago, I only had to choose  between Kamiseta and Giordano to shop in. Now there’s For Me, Bayo, Izod, Arrow, ProMod and several more.

We have all these options available to us and yet in the end it will always be our choice as to where we should shop.

Just like in any situation, God has given us the power to choose i.e. to choose how we want to live our lives. That He gave us a wide selection of paths to choose from. You choose how you want to spend your time and whom you want to spend time with. You choose which sport you want to excel at and work at it.  You choose to find a solution to problems instead of wallowing in self-pity. You choose to rectify your mistakes.  You choose to eat healthier foods. Each of us were given gifts that would  help us overcome any situation and that such gifts would help us live a more blissful life. And it is up to us if we use such gifts and choose where we want to go. 

As the inspirational speaker Sean Stephenson said, " Each decision has the power to affect not only us but also the lives of others."

We have the power to choose. Choose wisely!
